Pope Francis exhorted the French-speaking pilgrims present in St. Peter’s Square on May 29, 2019, at this Wednesday’s General Audience, to imitate the Virgin Mary’s “patience” and to be “docile” to the Holy Spirit.
The Pontiff greeted the visitors from France and Switzerland, saying: “I warmly greet the French-speaking persons, in particular, the pilgrims of the diocese of Pontoise, accompanied by their Bishop, Monsignor Stanislas Lalanne, as well as the young people from France and Switzerland, and the Schools of Charity and of Mission.”
He invited them to “Marian” patience. Following “the example of the Apostles and Mary, gathered in the Cenacle, let us ask the Lord for the patience to wait for His steps, and not to want to manufacture His work ourselves.”
The Holy Father also invited them to spiritual docility and to communion, saying: “may He help us to remain docile by praying to the Holy Spirit and cultivating the art of ecclesial communion. God bless you.”
