Promotion to the Order of Bishops of His Eminence Cardinal Beniamino Stella

The Holy Father has promoted to the Order of Bishops His Eminence Cardinal Beniamino Stella, prefect of the Congregation for the Clergy, assigning him the title of the Suburbicarian Church of Porto-Santa Rufina.

 Appointment of Vice Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church

The Holy Father has appointed Archbishop Ilson de Jesus Montanari, titular of Capocilla and secretary of the Congregation for Bishops, as vice Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church.

 Appointment of apostolic nuncio in Iraq

The Holy Father has appointed as apostolic nuncio in Iraq the Reverend Msgr. Mitja Leskovar, nunciature advisor, at the same time raising him to the titular see of Benevento, with the dignity of archbishop.

The Reverend Msgr. Mitja Leskovar was born in Kranj, Slovenia on January 3, 1970. He was ordained a priest on 29 June 1995 and incardinated in Ljubljana.

He holds a degree in canon law.

He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See on 1 July 2001, and served in the Pontifical Representations in Bangladesh, at the Section for General Affairs of the Secretariat of State, and in the Pontifical Representations in Germany and India.

He knows Italian, English, German, Croatian, French, and Spanish.
