Radio in El Salvador Offers Updates on Victims

.- A Catholic radio broadcasting station is offering information on Internet so that Salvadorans living abroad can have news of their families and friends in their quake-damaged homeland.

In addition to giving detailed information by region on the damages caused by the Jan. 13 earthquake, Born-Again Radio´s Web site ( http://www.renace.org ) publishes the list of deceased and offers a useful service to contact relatives and friends.

The radio station also offers an e-mail address, solidaridad@renace.org, through which anyone can send messages of solidarity to the country. These expressions of support will be broadcast on the radio.

Official figures said the earthquake killed 704, injured 4,000 and damaged 104,000 homes. The total number of people affected is close to 600,000.
