Cardinal Hopes G-8 Ardor Spills Over to Vocation Work

GENOA, Italy, JUNE 23, 2001 (Zenit.org).- Genoa´s archbishop hopes that religious show as much effort in looking for vocations as they do organizing protests for the upcoming G-8 summit.

«They are doing a good job, especially in the area of spiritual leadership of the movement,» Cardinal Dionigi Tettamanzi told Vidimus Dominum, the religious communities´ information service.

«But I wonder what would happen if the religious, missionaries and nuns worked with the same ardor used against the G-8 to resolve the problem of vocations and faithfulness to Gospel witness,» he added.
