Those attending today’s audience included Bishop Wilton Gregory, Bishop William Skylstad, and Monsignor William Fay, the president, vice president and secretary-general, respectively, of the U.S. episcopal conference.

The Vatican Press Office gave no details on the meeting. But ZENIT learned from Vatican sources that the topics at the audience included the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, approved by the U.S. conference last June.

Bishop Gregory will explain the Vatican’s response Friday at a press meeting.
