6 Named to Panel on Religious Relations with Jews

VATICAN CITY, APRIL 3, 2003 (Zenit.org).- John Paul II appointed six new consultors of the Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews, which is under the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity.

The Vatican press office today said the appointed included Latin-rite Auxiliary Bishop Giacinto-Boulos Marcuzzo of Jerusalem; Father Georges Cottier, Papal Household theologian; and Father Elias Chachour, president of the Mar Elias Educational Institutions in Ibillin, Israel.

Also appointed were Father Patrick Desbois of the Prado Institute, secretary of the French episcopate’s Commission for Judaism; Sister Lucy Thorson of the Congregation of Religious of Our Lady of Zion in Rome; and Hans Hermann Henrix, director of the Episcopal Academy of the Diocese of Aacher, Germany.
