After praying the Angelus today with more than 20,000 pilgrims gathered in St. Peter’s Square, the Pope greeted 32 of the children who are in Italy as guests of the Community of Discalced Carmelites of the city of Trent. The youngsters are accompanied by members of their families.

«May the kindness you are receiving from so many friends help you to overcome the wounds of your terrible past experience,» said the Holy Father.

This was the first time the children and youngsters had left Russia since that tragic Sept. 1 when they witnessed the deaths of dozens of their schoolmates.
