Supreme Knight Visits Pope

VATICAN CITY, JULY 1, 2005 (Zenit.org).- Benedict XVI received the Supreme Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Carl Anderson, in audience.

The meeting today, of which the Vatican press office gave no details, was one of the many contacts Anderson has had with the Vatican. He met with Pope John Paul II last Nov. 26.

The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic fraternal organization. It was formed as a charitable aid organization.

The Connecticut-based organization has more than 12,000 councils and 1.6 million members worldwide.
