The Holy Father traveled by plane today from Aosta to the Roman airport of Ciampino, thus concluding his holidays in Les Combes, in the Val d’Aosta, which began on July 11.

From there he set out for Castel Gandolfo, about 30 kilometers (18 miles) south of Rome, where he will stay until Aug. 18, when he will travel to Cologne, Germany, to attend World Youth Day.

The Vatican press office announced today that “beginning on Sunday, July 31, Benedict XVI will pray the Angelus from his summer residence at Castel Gandolfo. General audiences will be held regularly from Wednesday, Aug. 3.”
