Cardinal Lehmann Elected to 4th Term

FULDA, Germany, SEPT. 20, 2005 (ZENIT.org).- Cardinal Karl Lehmann, bishop of Mainz, has been re-elected to another six years as president of the German episcopal conference.

The 69-year-old cardinal, who begins his fourth term, has been president since 1987.

The election took place today at the autumn meeting of the bishops’ conference in Fulda.

Aachen Bishop Heinrich Mussinghoff, 64, was re-elected vice president. Father Hans Langendörfer, 53, was re-elected secretary.
