Archbishop Agustín García-Gasco is encouraging the Church’s more than 4,000 bishops to attend the World Meeting and the closing Mass in Valencia which Benedict XVI will preside over July 9.
Organizers are expecting more than 1.5 million people to attend the World Meeting.
The city of Valencia will host the event by decision of Pope John Paul II, announced in 2003 and ratified last May by his successor, Benedict XVI.
Archbishop García-Gasco, 74, has said that the Pope will preside over the main events of the world event on July 8 and 9.
