A response to: More Questions for Synod

If the Scriptures do not come alive as God’s word to me, my life, my enlivened faith for every day, they are just intellectual exercises.

Too often this has been what’s happened for Catholics. They think they can’t read Scripture because they don’t know enough.

They don’t realize their hearts must be touched and changed. They think priests and religious are the only ones who know enough to lead them in reading and sharing faith.

Please, God, break through this misguided idea. Soften our hearts to hear from you in daily Scripture reading and reflection.
