Pope Reflects on Strength of Risen Christ's Joy

VATICAN CITY, APRIL 14, 2010 (Zenit.org).- In his traditional greeting to youth, newlyweds and those suffering illnesses, Benedict XVI today reflected on the power of the joy of the Risen Christ.

At the conclusion of the general audience in St. Peter’s Square, the Pope expressed his wish that this joy would “inspire renewed ardor” in the lives of youth.

“May it be encouragement for you, dear sick, so that you can face with courage every trial and suffering,” he said.

And he concluded by noting his hope that this Easter joy would sustain newlyweds in their mutual love “so that in your home the peace of Christ will always reign.”
