VATICAN CITY, APRIL 28, 2010 (Zenit.org).- Benedict XVI closed today’s general audience with his tradition greeting to youth, the ill and newlyweds.

For youth, he prayed that the Risen Lord would fill their hearts with his love, “so that you will be ready to follow him with the enthusiasm and the freshness of your age.”

The Holy Father expressed his wish that God would sustain the sick to accept “with serenity the daily burden of suffering and the cross.”

Finally, he prayed for newly married couples, many of whom were dressed in their wedding garments, that God would guide them “to found, in faithful mutual donation, families permeated by the perfume of evangelical sanctity.”
