Academic Freedom Violated

A response to: Church Teaching Unwelcome, Even in Catholicism Class

The firing of the U. Illinois professor due to his teaching of Catholic tenets, certainly within the purview of the course syllabus, is untenable, and unjustifiable. I do hope that the American Association of University Professors will be involved in this violation of academic freedom. However unpopular the tenet, it is a fact within the teachings of the Catholic Church, very strongly centered on Natural Law.  

At worst, this is fascism at work, and at best, this is mind control. Is this what our country’s best and brightest can expect?
