VATICAN CITY, MAY 7, 2012 (Zenit.org).- The archbishop of Vienna will represent Benedict XVI this weekend at celebrations marking the 450th anniversary of the formal renewal of the archbishopric of Prague.

In the Latin-language letter by which the Pope appointed Cardinal Christoph Schönborn his envoy, the Holy Father recalls the long centuries of Church activity in that region of Europe, evangelized by the brothers Cyril and Methodius and homeland to Blessed Ludmilla and St. Wenceslaus.

It was also announced on Saturday that Cardinal Joseph Zen Ze-kiun, retired bishop of Hong Kong, will represent the Pontiff at July 7 celebrations marking the centenary of the birth of Blessed Peter To Rot. Blessed Peter was a catechist and martyr of Papua New Guinea.
