Maronite Patriarch Denounces Lawyers Who Help Couples Convert to Other Sects

The Maronite Patriarch of Antioch, Bechara Boutros Rai, denounced lawyers who are suggesting couples to convert to other denominations or Christian sects in order to obtain a divorce.

According to Fides News agency, His Beatitude Rai, had some strong words for those lawyers.

"Every lawyer who helps a married couple to convert in order to divorce them is banned from representing cases in religious courts", the Patriarch said.

"We call on religious courts and the courts of two well-known Churches to stop committing this sin in return for a fistful of money".
