New Cardinals Given Work in Curia

Quebec’s Cardinal Lacroix to Assist With Councils for Consecrated Life, Interreligious Dialogue, Culture

The Vatican today released a list of the curial appointments given to the cardinals created during the February consistory:

1. In the Congregation for the Eastern Churches: Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin; Cardinal Vincent Gerard Nichols, archbishop of Westminster, Great Britain; Cardinal Mario Aurelio Poli, archbishop of Buenos Aires, Argentina; Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Muller, prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith;

2. In the Congregation for the Causes of Saints: Cardinal Lorenzo Baldisseri, secretary general of the Synod of Bishops; Cardinal Beniamino Stella, prefect of the Congregation for the Clergy;

3. In the Congregation for Bishops: Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin; Cardinal Vincent Gerard Nichols, archbishop of Westminster, Great Britain; Cardinal Gualtiero Bassetti, archbishop of Perugia-Citta della Pieve, Italy; Cardinal Lorenzo Baldisseri, secretary general of the Synod of Bishops; Cardinal Beniamino Stella, prefect of the Congregation for the Clergy;
