Inter-Korean Summit: Pope Appeals for 'Concrete Journey of Reconciliation'& 'Transparent Dialogue'

Assured his «personal prayer» and «the closeness of the whole Church» to the Korean people «who long for peace»

For the upcoming Inter-Korean Summit, Pope Francis has appealed for a ‘concrete journey of reconciliation’and ‘transparent dialogue.’
The Holy Father did so during his General Audience this morning in St. Peter’s Square. The Summit is scheduled for April 27, 2018 in Panmunjon, with the leaders of South and North Korea, Moon Jae-in and Kim Jong-un.
This meeting, the Pope said, «will be a good opportunity to launch a transparent dialogue and a concrete journey of reconciliation and renewed brotherhood, in order to guarantee peace in the Korean Peninsula and in the whole world.»
The Holy Father expressed his «personal prayer» and «the closeness of the whole Church» to the Korean people «who long for peace».
The Holy See, he expressed, «accompanies, supports and encourages every useful and sincere initiative to build a better future, the emblem of the encounter and friendship between peoples».
«To those who have direct political responsibilities, I ask you to have the courage of hope, by making yourselves artisans of peace.» He also urged them to «pursue confidently the path undertaken for the good of all.»
