Pope Francis on May 20, 2018, renewed his prayers for peace in the Middle East.  His remarks came after praying the noonday Regina Coeli with a crowd of some 30,000 pilgrims gather in St. Peter’s Square.
“Pentecost takes us to the heart of Jerusalem,” the Holy Father said. “Yesterday evening I was spiritually united to the Vigil of Prayer for Peace, which took place in that City, holy for Jews, Christians, and Muslims. And today we continue to invoke the Holy Spirit to arouse the will and gestures of dialogue and reconciliation in the Holy Land and in the whole of the Middle East.”
