Pope Francis received in audience about 40 bishops who in these days participated in the Spiritual Exercises organized by the Vatican’s Congregation for Bishops, reported Vatican News.
These Spiritual Exercises are held at the Pontiff’s wish, every year, to be an opportunity for meeting and spiritual retreat for those bishops who were consecrated five or six years ago.
From Aug. 20 – Sept. 3, the bishops consecrated in 2012-2013 gathered.
The retreat, Vatican News highlighted, was structured in two parts: the first was held in Ariccia, at the Casa “Divin Maestro,” where the Pope does his spiritual retreat with Curia members during Lent. Led by experienced bishops, it was dedicated to sharing their experiences, joys, difficulties and challenges.
The second, it said, was held in Camaldoli, in the province of Arezzo.
This morning the Pope also received prelates of the Episcopal Conference of Sudan and South Sudan.
