Resignation of bishop of Córdoba, Mexico, and appointment of successor

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Córdoba, Mexico, presented by Bishop Eduardo Porfirio Patiño Leal. He is succeeded by Bishop Eduardo Cirilo Carmona Ortega, C.O.R.C., currently coadjutor of the same diocese.

 

Appointment of apostolic nuncio in Great Britain

The Holy Father has appointed Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti, titular of Ravello and apostolic nuncio in Ukraine, as apostolic nuncio in Great Britain.

 

Appointment of members and consulters of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity

The Holy Father has appointed the following as members of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity His Eminence Cardinal Joseph William Tobin, archbishop of Newark; Bishop Mario Grech, emeritus of Gozo and pro-secretary general of the Synod of Bishops; Bishop Paulo Cezar Costa of São Carlos; Bishop Paul Rouhana, titular of Antarado and auxiliary of Joubbé, Sarba and Jounieh of the Maronites; and Bishop Richard Kuuia Baawobr of Wa.

His Holiness has appointed as consulters of the same Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity Archbishop Giacomo Morandi, titular of Cerveteri and secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, and Archbishop Giorgio Demetrio Gallaro, bishop emeritus of Piana degli Albanesi and secretary of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches.
