Appointment of apostolic nuncio in Angola and in São Tomé and Príncipe

The Holy Father has appointed as apostolic nuncio in Angola and in São Tomé and Príncipe the Reverend Msgr Giovanni Gaspari, nunciature counselor, at the same time elevating him to the titular see of Alba Marittima, with the dignity of archbishop.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr Gaspari was born in Pescara, Italy on 6 June 1963. He was ordained a priest on 4 July 1987 and incardinated in Pescara-Penne.

He has a degree in canon law and a licentiate in moral theology.

He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See on July 1,  2001, and served in the Pontifical representations in Iran, Albania, Mexico, Lithuania, and in the Section for Relations with States of the Secretariat of State.

He speaks English, Spanish, and French.

Resignation of auxiliary of the archdiocese of Paderborn, Germany

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the office of auxiliary of Paderborn, Germany, presented by Bishop Hubert Berenbrinker.
