The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Francisco Agamenilton Damascena of the clergy of the diocese of Uruaçu as bishop of the diocese of Rubiataba-Mozarlândia, Brazil).

Curriculum vitae

Bishop Francisco Agamenilton Damascena was born on June 26, 1975, in Currais Novos, in the State of Rio Grande do Norte. He completed his studies in philosophy at the Nossa Senhora de Fátima Major Seminary in Brasília and the Pontifical University Regina Apostolorum in Rome, where he was also awarded a licentiate in philosophy; he specialized in university teaching at the Faculdade Mário Schenberg in Cotia, in the State of São Paulo, and a doctorate in philosophy at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome.

He was ordained a priest on March 19, 2001, and incardinated in the diocese of Uruaçu, where he held the following offices: parish administrator, deputy parish priest, parish priest, chancellor, diocesan pastoral coordinator, academic director of the Diaconal School, vice-rector and professor at the São José major seminary, member of the presbyteral council, the council of formators and the college of consultors.

In addition, he was academic director and professor of the Sapentiae Institute of Philosophy, in the diocese of Anápolis. From February 19, 2019, to September 12, 2020, he served as diocesan administrator of Uruaçu.
