Benedict XVI: Update on Pope Emeritus’ Health Status

His serious health status continues, although it hasn’t worsened. Pope Francis renews the invitation to pray for him.

(ZENIT News / Vatican City, 29.12.2022).- At midday on Thursday, December 29, the Holy See Press Office gave an update on the Pope Emeritus’ health status. The update, communicated by the official spokesman, Matteo Bruni, states the following:

“The Pope Emeritus was able to rest last night; he is absolutely lucid and alert and today, although his state continues to be serious, the situation at present is stable. Pope Francis renews his invitation to pray for him and accompany him in these difficult hours.”

In synthesis, his serious health status continues, although it hasn’t worsened, and Pope Francis renews the invitation to pray for him.
