(ZENIT News / Vatican City, 10.19.2023).- On the morning of Wednesday, October 18, Pope Francis received in an audience His Majesty, the King of Lesotho, Letsie III, who later met with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Secretary of State, accompanied by Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.

During their cordial discussions, they focused on the positive relations between the Holy See and the Kingdom of Lesotho, highlighting the significant contribution of the local Church.

Finally, they also discussed international issues of common interest, particularly the conflicts in Ukraine and the Holy Land, as well as some mentions of the political, environmental, and security situation in the Southern African region.
