Mexican, a woman, a layperson, and former president of EWTN: this is the woman Pope Leo XIV chose as the first prefect of the Dicastery for Communication

Five years ago, Pope Francis publicly lamented what he described as criticism coming from a major Catholic television network (EWTN). Today, under a different pontificate, a senior executive from that same organization has been entrusted with directing the Vatican’s own communications apparatus.
