Pope Plans to Meet With Journalists

VATICAN CITY, APRIL 20, 2005 (Zenit.org).- Benedict XVI plans to meet with journalists on Saturday morning, the Holy See announced.

Joaquín Navarro Valls, director of the Vatican press office, confirmed the announcement in a press statement today.

He also revealed that on Friday morning the new Pope, the erstwhile Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, will meet with all the cardinals present in Rome, including those over age 80 who could not take part in the conclave which elected him.

Navarro Valls confirmed that on Sunday at 10 a.m. «Benedict XVI will preside over the Eucharist on the solemn beginning of his pontificate.»

Next Monday morning, the Holy Father will receive the delegations attending the ceremony to inaugurate his pontificate.
