«There are always leaks, so it’s better to anticipate them,» said Archbishop Roland Minnerath of Dijon, France, the special secretary of the synod, in statements today to the agency I-Media.
In preceding synods, held since the Second Vatican Council, the custom has been not to publish the propositions, or proposals, so that the Pope could make a freer use of its conclusions, particularly when writing the postsynodal apostolic exhortation.
According to Archbishop Minnerath, the form that Benedict XVI’s document will take might well be «different from the previous ones and will have his mark.»
Voting on the propositions will take place Saturday and, according to the French prelate, they might be published the same day.
