At the end of today’s general audience in St. Peter’s Square, the Pope greeted delegates of the Italian Movement who were on hand.

The Holy Father thanked them for «your courageous activity of 30 years, oriented to promoting and defending the right to life and the dignity of every human person from conception until natural death.»

«On committing yourselves to the prevention of abortion, with an attentive action of support to women and families, you help to write pages of hope for the future of humanity, proclaiming in a concrete way the ‘Gospel of life,'» he said.

The Italian Pro-Life Movement says its Aid to Life Centers help some 15,000 women each year. Many women move in with host families or enter homes rented by the centers.
