“In this historical moment, so scarred by wars and hatred, these small gestures are seeds of peace and brotherhood.”
These were the words addressed by Pope Francis to participants of the Meeting of Dialogue Between Buddhist and Catholics of the United States.
The Holy Father met briefly with the group at the Paul VI Audience Hall, prior to his weekly General Audience today.
The meeting, which is being held in Castel Gandolfo, is sponsored by the Focolare Movement and the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue. Among those present during the Pope’s greeting was Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, president of the dicastery.
The Holy Father thanked them for their visit, which he said was a sign of “brotherhood, dialogue as well as friendship.
“These are things that do great good, that are healthy,” he said.
Concluding his address, Pope Francis called on them to sow seeds of “peace and brotherhood” in their meetings. Before making his way to St. Peter’s Square, the Holy Father imparted his blessing to them. (J.A.E.)
