Pope Francis today received Eunisis Vásquez Acosta, ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the Holy See, in audience this morning at the presentation of her Credentials.
The ambassador was born in Nagua, Dominican Republic, on May 31, 1960. She has a degree in Law, specializing in Civil Law, Master in French Private Law, Constitutional Law, and Administrative Law.
Vásques is an expert jurist and law professor, author of numerous publications in the sector.
In her professional career, she has held the following positions in the Dominican Republic: lawyer; Justice of the Peace, deputy and then titular; investigating judge; judge of the Civil and Commercial Court of First Instance; judge of the Civil and Commercial Court of Appeal.
She has also served as a law professor at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo and at the Ibero-American University, as well as president of the Civil and Commercial Court of the Second Appeals Section of the National District (2014 – 2020).
