Holy Mass and the Regina Caeli Prayer in Kossuth Lajos Square
(ZENIT News / Rome, 04.30.2023).- On Sunday morning, April 30, after leaving the Apostolic Nunciature, Pope Francis went by car to Kossuth Lajos Square for the celebration of Holy Mass.
On his arrival, after changing cars and driving around in the Popemobile among the gathered faithful, at 9:30 am the Holy Father presided over the Eucharistic Celebration of the Fourth Sunday of Easter, on the World Day of Prayer for Vocations.
During the Holy Mass, after the proclamation of the Gospel, the Pope pronounced his homily. At the end of the celebration, Cardinal Péter Erdö, Metropolitan Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest, addressed a greeting and thanksgiving to the Holy Father. Then Pope Francis directed the Regina Caeli prayer with the faithful present. According to the local Authorities, some 50,000 people attended the Holy Mass, more than 30,000 of them in Kossuth Lajos Square.
After praying the Regina Caeli and the Final Blessing, the Pontiff returned by car to the Apostolic Nunciature in Budapest, the place where he stayed during the period of his visit to the country.
Meeting with the Academic and Cultural World in the Computer Science and Bionic Sciences Faculty of the Péter Pázmany Catholic University
In the afternoon, after saying goodbye to the staff and benefactors of the Apostolic Nunciature in Budapest, Pope Francis went to the Péter Pázmány Catholic University, where the Meeting took place with the University and of Culture world in the Computer Science and Bionic Sciences Faculty.
On his arrival, at 4:00 pm, Pope Francis was received at the entrance by the Rector and Dean of the Faculty. Then they went together to the platform where the meeting was held.
After the welcome address of the Archbishop, Professor Géza Kuminetz, Rector of the “Péter Pázmany” Catholic University, the performance of a musical interval and the testimonies of a Professor and a student, the Pontiff pronounced his address.
At the end, after the handing of a gift to the Holy Father, the praying of the Our Father and the Final Blessing, the Pope greeted some of those present. He then left the Péter Pázmány University and went to the Ferenc Liszt International Airport for the farewell ceremony of Hungary.

At the end of the meeting with the University and Cultural world in the Péter Pázmány Catholic University, Pope Francis went to the Ferenc Liszt International Airport of Budapest for the farewell ceremony of Hungary.
On his arrival he was received by the President of the Republic, Mrs Katalin Novák, at the foot of the plane. After the greetings of the respective Delegations and local Authorities, Pope Francis boarded a neo/ITA Airways A320 and left to return to Italy.
The plane transporting the Holy Father on his return from the Apostolic Journey to Hungary took off from the Ferenc Liszt International Airport at 6:08 pm and landed at the Leonardo da Vinci Fiumicino International Airport of Rome at 7:25 pm.
On his arrival in Rome, the Pope went to visit the Virgin Mary in the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, after which he was taken to the Vatican.
