ROME, APRIL 11, 2011 (Zenit.org).- A children’s advocacy group is inviting friends and volunteers to Benedict XVI’s traditional midday Angelus address April 25, the day marked as World Child Abuse Awareness Day by many organizations.

The Italy-based Meter Association will gather with the Pope to mark the day as the 15th Day for Child Victims of Violence, Exploitation and Indifference.

The founder of the association, Father Fortunato Di Noto, noted that April 25 this year falls within the Easter season (it is Easter Monday). He called this «a luminous way» to «coincide with the theme of the day: ‘We Have Found Life Again.'»

«Easter is receiving the gift of new life in Jesus Christ who has defeated death and, who better than us, can witness to all the life we have received and how much life has been reborn after negation, violence, suffering … death, in short,» Father Di Noto reflected.

The priest said the gathering will be a chance to «live a gift that comes from the Lord: communion among ourselves, to be witnesses of love for little ones and the weak.»
