The four leaders were Catholic Archbishop Sean Brady, primate of Ireland; his Church of Ireland counterpart, Archbishop Robin Eames; Dr. Russell Birney of the Presbyterian Church; and the Reverend Winston Graham, Methodist president.
The agenda is believed to have included sectarianism and the current political situation, BBC said today.
After the meeting, Eames said the religious leaders remained hopeful that in the weeks ahead politicians in Northern Ireland could find agreement, BBC said.
