The Holy Father appointed Reverend Father Elia Eskandr Abd Elmalak, O.F.M., Apostolic Administrator sede vacante of the Apostolic Vicariate of Alexandria of Egypt of the Latins. At present, he is the Vicar General of the Eparchy of Luxor-Thebes.
The Reverend Father Elia Eskandr Abd Elmalak, O.F.M.
The Reverend Father Elia Eskandr Abd Elmalak, O.F.M., was born in Assiut on January 10, 1975, and he made his perpetual vows in the Order of Friars Minor on September 4, 2008. He was ordained a priest on August 22, 2009. He has carried out the ministries of Parish Priest and School Director first in Qena (2009), Cumimbo (2010) and then at Twairat (2013). Since July 25, 2016, he has been Vicar General of the Eparchy of Luxor-Thebes.
