Germany: Pope Francis Cites Blessed Clara Fey

‘We thank God for this zealous witness of the Gospel, devoted educator of disadvantaged youth.’

Pope Francis gave thanks May 6, 2018, for the “zealous witness” of Clara Fey, Founder of the Sisters of the Poor Child Jesus, who lived in the second half of the nineteenth century. She was proclaimed Blessed the previous day at Aachen (Germany).

His remarks came after praying the noondayRegina Coeli with the crowd of pilgrims gathered in St. Peter’s Square.

The Sisters of the Poor Child Jesus is a Roman Catholic religious congregation for women, founded at Aachen, Germany, in 1844, for the support and education of poor, orphan, and destitute children, especially girls.
