Holy See Convokes EU Envoys to Discuss Iraq

VATICAN CITY, MARCH 28, 2003 (Zenit.org).- The Holy See convoked the ambassadors of the European Union countries to discuss the Iraqi war and also the future European Constitution.

Thursday’s meeting of the envoys assigned to the Vatican was promoted by Archbishop Jean-Louis Tauran, secretary for relations with states.

“The meeting was an occasion to exchange points of view on the situation in Iraq, on the future European Constitutional Treaty, and on the international situation in general,” said a statement by Vatican spokesman Joaquín Navarro-Valls.
