“I am happy to announce the Pope will visit Madagascar in 2019.”
Madagascar’s Cardinal Désiré Tsarahazana told ZENIT this when asking what matters to the young people of his country and whether a potential papal visit in 2019 could be part of this.
“We, ourselves, the episcopal conference, went to the Pope to ask him to come to Madagascar,” he said in French.
“We are happy to announce to you that he [the Pope] will visit our home in 2019.”
“It will be an encouragement for the whole world.”
At this time, the Vatican would not confirm the trip.
