Turning to the Poles, during the greetings in several languages, the Holy Father encouraged the appeal for peace of the “Norvid” Lyceum of Stargard, which will be sent to the governments of all the countries of the world, for the 100th anniversary of Poland’s independence (1919-2019).
He also expressed his support for the 10th Day of Solidarity with the persecuted Church, organized by the “Aid to the Church in Need” Papal Foundation, with the Polish Episcopal Conference. Financial aid this year will be allocated to the Christians of Pakistan,” he stressed.
