In this difficult moment, I would like to assure the faithful and the shepherds of the Church in Italy of the spiritual closeness, solidarity, and prayer of the Church in Poland, emphasized the President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki in his letter to the Italians. At the same time, he asked Polish faithful to join in prayer on the evening of March 19, to an end of the coronavirus epidemic in this most affected country.

The President of the Polish Episcopate called on all Poles to embrace all Italians with the prayer of the rosary. The Eucharist was celebrated in front of the Miraculous Image of Our Lady of Jasna Góra for all Italians affected by the epidemic.

“Let us confidently call for the intercession of the Holy Bishops of Rome St. John XXIII, St. Paul VI, and St. John Paul II,” wrote Archbishop Gądecki in a letter to the faithful and shepherds in Italy. In this way he referred to the initiative of the Italian Bishops “Prayer for Italy affected by the epidemic”.
