Pope Francis called for prayers for Sudan before praying the Regina Coeli with the crowds gathered in St. Peter’s Square for the Pentecost Mass on June 9, 2019.  In recent days, more than 100 have been reported killed in the political violence that has gripped the country.
“The news reaching us these days from Sudan causes grief and preoccupation,” the Holy Father said. “Let us pray for these people, may violence cease and the common good be sought in dialogue.”
