The Pope will make an Apostolic Trip to Morocco at the beginning of 2019. The Director of the Vatican Press Office, Greg Burke, made the announcement of this upcoming trip to the majority Muslim country, today, Nov. 13, 2018.
“Accepting the invitation of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI and the bishops, His Holiness Pope Francis will make an apostolic trip to Morocco from 30 to 31 March 2019, visiting the cities of Rabat and Casablanca.”
“The program for the trip will be published in due time.”
There had been speculation during 2018 that the Pope would accept an invitation to Morocco on the occasion of the UN intergovernmental Conference to Adopt the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration in December 2018.
