Pope Mourns Victims of Iran’s Railway Tragedy

VATICAN CITY, FEB. 19, 2004 (Zenit.org).- John Paul II expressed his condolences for the victims of the railway explosion tragedy in Iran that left more than 300 dead.

In a telegram sent today by Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Angelo Sodano, the Pope expressed “his profound sympathy to the authorities and Iranian people, again in mourning because of this railway catastrophe.”
