The Pope invites to pray for families in difficulty , “so that they rediscover the grandeur of the love that unites them.”
The Pontiff addressed in these terms the Arabic-speaking visitors present in the General Audience of Wednesday, August 29, 2018, held in St. Peter’s Square.
“I greet warmly the Arabic-speaking pilgrims, in particular those that have come form Syria, from Lebanon and from the Middle East,” said the Pontiff in Italian, before being translated by his secretary, Monsignor Yoannis Lahzi Gaid, Coptic priest of Egypt.
“The difficulties and problems that families go through cannot undermine the importance of the family institution for society and for humanity, or to question the fundamental need of lasting love that saves us from the isolation of solitude and the lies of the culture of the provisional,” stressed the Pope.
He invited to keep in prayer families in difficulty. “Let us pray for all families that are in difficulty, so that they may re-discover the grandeur of the love that unites them and the strength of faith capable of healing their wounds. May God bless you and protect you from the Evil One,” he said.
