Archbishop John P. Foley, president of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, made his appeal Tuesday during a meeting in Munich to present the book «God in the Global Village» («Gott im Globalen Dorf»). The book consists of a long interview that Archbishop Foley had in Rome with German journalist Ulrich Bobinger.
«I do think that it is important to recall that the very first communicator is God himself,» the archbishop said. «God is in continuing communication with us, even though we may not be aware of it.»
«Communication is from a person to a person and, since it brings persons closer together, it is an essential element of society and should be used only for the welfare of society,» he concluded.
