Following meetings in European and Middle Eastern cities, which began in 1999, the religious leaders announced their plan in a recent statement in Oslo, site of their latest meeting.
The plan includes the organization of forums and seminars on dialogue and the process of reconciliation among the peoples of Kosovo. It provides for the sharing of information and insights with the U.N. mission in Kosovo, and it calls for use of the media to increase public awareness on dialogue and reconciliation.
The religious leaders said they would implement the plan, «peacefully and openly,» through the Kosovo Interreligious Council.
The statement is signed by Mufti Rexhep Boja, president of the Islamic Community; Serbian Orthodox Bishop Artemije Radosavljevi of Raka-Prizren; and Catholic Bishop Marko Sopi of Prizren.
