The Holy Father offered his suggestions in a crowded Paul VI Hall, where today´s general audience was held, away from the blistering heat in St. Peter´s Square.

“These days of intense heat remind us that the summer period has begun, a time of tourism and pilgrimages, of vacations and rest,” the Pope said.

“Dear young people, while I think of your contemporaries who are still facing examinations, I wish those of you who have already started your holidays to take advantage this summer to be involved in useful social and religious experiences,” the Holy Father said at the end of the audience.

The largest religious meeting for youth this summer will be World Youth Day in Toronto.
