«On one side [are] the Palestinian terrorists, who seek to sabotage the dialogue through attacks; on the other, an Israeli strategy characterized by reprisal and the ‘selected elimination’ of the adversary leaders, which does not facilitate the negotiation,» L’Osservatore Romano said in today’s Italian edition.
The paper added: «The new wave of violence runs the risk of destroying the hopes of peace that just barely a week ago arose at the Aqaba summit between the president of the United States, George W. Bush, and the Israeli and Palestinian Prime Ministers, Ariel Sharon and Abu Mazen.»
