Slovakian University to Honor Chiara Lubich

TRNAVA, Slovakia, JUNE 20, 2003 (ZENIT.orgFides).- Focolare founder Chiara Lubich will be awarded an honorary doctorate in theology by Slovakia’s Trnava University.

The university will confer the honor this Monday at Castel Gandolfo, near Rome, to highlight Lubich’s efforts to promote dialogue between faith and science, and culture and politics in Slovakian society.

The university’s School of Theology proposed the honor. The university was founded in 1635.

The Focolare Movement works for a spiritual and social renewal of all people. It is present in 182 countries.
